Since Dave Mungenast St. Louis Honda was first established in 1965, it has today become a staple of the entire St. Louis community. The dealership began by selling Honda motorcycles and expanded to add Honda automobiles in 1974. Since then, they have grown to be Missouri’s number one Honda sales volume dealership for the past 14 years.
The current facility located at 5939 S. Lindbergh Blvd. has undergone several phases of renovations over the years, but most recently modernizations have been made in the service reception area. They have enlarged the customer waiting area to add a separate child’s playroom, and also updated the service drive thru and the complimentary car wash area, which is available to ALL Dave Mungenast St. Louis Honda customers.
The “Platinum Rule” of doing business instituted by the late Dave Mungenast, Sr. continues today at St. Louis Honda. The associates believe in this rule of “treating customers as they want to be treated – ensuring they will become repeat and referral customers”. The complete satisfaction of each customer is always the number one priority, and it is because of this that the dealership has its own Public Relations department that follows up with every customer after his or her visit to the dealership.
Participation in community service and charitable events is also an important part of doing business in the “Dave Mungenast” way. Every year dealership employees and the Dave and Barbara Mungenast Foundation make contributions to the St. Louis Area Food Bank and the Boys’ Club of St. Louis. Beyond that, they support several other local events and charities, including the Children’s Miracle Network and various local church and school activities. On October 24th this year, they will host the 13th Annual KlaasKids Child Safety Day at which the nationally renowned child safety advocate Marc Klaas will visit the dealership to conduct his child ID program. Also in October, you can participate in the annual Dave Mungenast Memorial Bike and Badge (Motorcycle) Ride to benefit the St. Louis Backstoppers.
Dave Mungenast St. Louis Honda has received American Honda’s prestigious President’s Award for the last 11 consecutive years. There are only five Honda dealers in the nation to receive this award more times than St. Louis Honda. Furthermore, the Dealer Principal, Dave Mungenast Jr., was recently honored as Missouri’s 2009 Time Magazine Dealer of the Year.
