Mungenast Automotive Kids Safety Event

Keeping children safe is every parent's primary concern. In the spaces between shuttling and preparing kids for school, sports practice, after-school activities, parties, and sleepovers, parents worry. Where are they? Who are they with? Are adults present and vigilant? Are the children safe?

When the Klaas Family experienced the tragic abduction of their daughter in California in 1993, they established a foundation to help parents and caring adults learn more about how they can keep their children safe.

It is impossible for parents to control their children's environments all day every day, but parents can take action to help increase the odds in favor of safety and to be prepared in worst case scenarios. This month, the Mungenast Automotive Family in St. Louis is partnering with Klaas Kids Foundation to make child safety a little easier.

On October 15th , between 9am and 3pm, Mungenast St. Louis Acura, Hyundai, St. Louis Honda and Alton Toyota-Scion will host a free child safety event, including:

•FINGERPRINTING & DIGITAL PHOTO ID
One of the key steps in ensuring your child’s security is maintaining complete and updated records. We’ll be providing free fingerprinting and Digital Photo IDs with no databasing. You will retain the only record of this visit.

•DNA COLLECTION KIT
The KlaasKids Foundation and the State of California DNA Laboratory have created a Do-It-Yourself DNA Collection Kit using common household items. Now you can sample and store your child’s DNA without the unnecessary expense of purchasing DNA Kits. In the event of a missing child or family member, DNA is invaluable and can speed the process of finding your missing loved one.

•9-POINT PLAN ON WHAT TO DO IF YOUR CHILD DISAPPEARS
Mark Klaas of the KlaasKids Foundation will be on hand to provide practical tips to prepare families for worst-case scenarios.

•CHILD FRIENDLY SAFETY TIPS
Firefighters, police, and other officials will be on location to help your family learn important, child-friendly safety tips for kids and parents to encourage safety discussions at home.
