After hearing about the tragic shootings at the Kirkwood City Hall on February 7th, Frank Leta felt moved to do something.
"My Acura dealership has been a part of that community for years," said Leta, "so I couldn't stand by and do nothing."
With the help of his grandson, Steve Brown, general manager of Frank Leta Acura, Leta developed the Kirkwood Unity effort.
This effort included designing a striking logo and printing Kirkwood Unity window clings so that residents could show their
support for community harmony. 100% of the proceeds from the sales of the Kirkwood Unity window clings were contributed to
the families of the victims killed that tragic night.
It's that kind of community involvement that Frank Leta is known for. From supporting the St. Patrick's Center for the
Homeless through the Leta Classic Golf Tournament, to creating the Frank Leta Automotive Street Team to support the St.
Louis Science Center, Leta is involved in many different aspects of the local community.
Most important to Frank Leta, however, is his work with children's groups. Leta Honda in O'Fallon, Missouri recently
sponsored a Child Fingerprint ID weekend and annually sponsors the Friends of Kids with Cancer Golf Tournament, as well
as Lutheran Association for Special Education.
"I've tried to instill a sense of civic responsibility in all my kids, and my grandkids, too," said Leta. "And judging
from how they choose to run my dealerships, the Leta legacy will be a very positive one."
In September 2006, Frank Leta Honda moved to a brand new state-of-the-art facility near Hwy. 40 and K. Frank Leta Acura
is located on Tesson Ferry in South County. |
