On Thursday, March 11 at 4:30 p.m. the Saint Louis Auto Dealers Association (SLADA) Charitable Foundation donated a new Ford E350 12 passenger
van to the Herbert Hoover Boys & Girls Club (HHBGC) of St. Louis. SLADA has been a long-time supporter of HHBGC. A short while ago, SLADA learned
that the current van the Club used to transport children to events around St. Louis was old and worn down and they were in desperate need of a new one,
so SLADA jumped right in to help.
"Being an organization made up of new car dealers, the charity foundation committee couldn't think of an easier problem to fix, so we simply went to one of our
member dealers and purchased a brand new van to donate to the Herbert Hoover Boys & Girls Club," said Chris Adelmann, Executive Vice President of SLADA.
The folks at HHBGC couldn’t be more thankful. "The Herbert Hoover Boys & Girls Club is thrilled to be the recipient of this practical and attractive gift,"
said Dr. Flint Fowler, the Club's President. "The Saint Louis Auto Dealers Association is a true champion for kids! Their gift of the 12 passenger van will allow
Club members access to vision and dental care, the swimming pool, and will be used to transport them to cultural and athletic events safely. What really makes this
donation special is that it comes at a time when the auto industry is challenged by the nation's struggling economy. We are grateful to have such great friends and
supporters."
SLADA's Charitable Foundation has a long tradition of charitable giving back to the St. Louis community. Its goal is to reach out to local organizations that help
needy children in the area. Along with making donations throughout the year, SLADA's Charitable Foundation also hosts the SLADA Charitable Golf Tournament and Cheers
for Children! Charity Gala to raise money to help support its goal.
